Did you know?
Winning is not nearly as important as you think it is. Seriously. Give it some thought all you frustrated ex-athletes who treat your 10 year old kids like they are in the NBA or the NFL or MLB. Try paying attention to some things that really matter as far as your kids are concerned.

The craziness won't stop
So a Muslim terrorist kills 49 people in a bar and Obama comes out saying there is no reason to use terms like Islamic terrorist, Muslim extremism, Muslim terrorist, jihadist, etc. Then Loretta Lynch, rather than being upset about the real problem, the true threat, she gets on her soap box about how dangerous anti-Islam rhetoric is. What the pooh is wrong with these people? As Brian Fisher has pointed out, you can't get the right prescription without the correct diagnosis.
We're in some deep trouble.
We're in some deep trouble.

Fooey on baseball
You know what is more annoying than baseball? Its how seriously baseball people take baseball. Yeesh, drives me crazy.
You know what's the only good thing about opening day of baseball season? Its one day closer to the end of baseball season.
Can we get a little football up in here please?

Fooey on Big Events
Okay, actually, sometimes I like big events. I'm just so sick of kids and parents and grandparents who still think that youth ministry is about big events. That is so 90s. Yes, big events can pull in a bunch of kids to act stupid for a few hours. Is that really building the Kingdom? Especially, since most of those kids you pull in are probably from the other churches in town. They just make the rounds from one fun thing to the next.
And there are still people in the church who want to see that. That is their idea of turning teenagers into disciples. Have a big deal, make your church look really good. Get that reputation for being lots of fun. How is that biblical? How is that helping anyone count the cost associated with the gospel?

Grow Up
If you think your job as a parent is to make your kid want to go to church, you're an idiot. Your job is to teach your child how to follow Christ. You make them go to school when they don't want to and it doesn't kill them or turn them into anti-intellectuals. You make them eat their green beans when they don't want to and it doesn't kill them or turn them into strict carnivores. You make them go to sports practice when they don't feel like it and it doesn't kill them or turn them into nerds. Make sure they go to church even when they don't want to. It will be best in the long run.

Still Ticked at UT
Nothing against Charlie Strong, but I'm still ticked that they ran Mack off. Look at the turnaround he pulled off this season and tell me he can't still coach. Bunch of divas down there. I won't be upset if they lose five games this year.
