Parents, take a chill pill
So yesterday I saw a father playing catch with his son. Nice. A few minutes later I came back by and the dad was putting the boy through agility drills in preparation for the upcoming football season. Jeepers, give me a break! The kid is only 9 years old and football is a couple months away. Honestly, let the kid be a kid. Let sports be something fun. Parents are not their kid's buddies, but neither should they be slave drivers.

Poor dad. . . never made it to the next level (whatever level that was for him) and is determined that his son will go farther. Select leagues, private coaches, it all seems so ridiculous. Put that money in his 529 and let the kid have fun.
